It's easy to notice a lipoma when it's just under the skin, but if you have a lipoma in your abdomen - either on the connective tissue covering your potential human health bowels or on the bowels themselves potential human health - you would never know it unless you had surgery or a CT scan. (See the next question below to read about CT scans.) Sometimes lipomas grow large enough to get in the way of other things. For example, lipomas under the skin in the hand can irritate the tendons of the hand. Or, a lipoma potential human health growing inside the tube of the colon can interfere with the usual colon muscle contractions (that lead to bowel movements) or partially obstruct stool on its way through.
